are no longer being accepted.

We are keeping this Art Bazaar application page up for educational and informational purposes.  Although none of the three application modules are functioning  (application form, file uploader, or PayPal button), the information and instructions for each will enable applicants for next year's Art Bazaar to familiarize themselves with the application process.





Application for the 2009 Blue Genie Art Bazaar

The online application for the annual Blue Genie Art Bazaar is a simple 3-step process:

  1. Fill out and submit the application form.
  2. Upload photos of your work (digital image files).
  3. Pay the application fee.

Everything you need is on this page, and we will guide you through each step — but first this important point needs to be made:

Although all three parts of the application are found on this page together, they are not connected in any way and are each a separate process.  Because of this it is very important for you to identify yourself using the same one name on all three parts of the application.  This will enable us to link your image files and payment to your application.  (See additional info and example at each step below.)

If any component of the online application malfunctions, or you prefer to not make an online application, there are alternatives.


This Art Bazaar Application Form is not functional

[ Step 1 ]  Fill out and submit the application

Your application should be completely filled out.  The application form provides us with the basic information that we need to know about you and your work.  You definitely need to fill in at least those items marked with a red asterisk (*), as failing to do so may result in your application being ignored.

Please give us your COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS; we cannot mail you a check without this.  We prefer to conduct most communication via email and our website.  It is very important that you provide us with a working email address that you check often in order to receive timely show updates and other important information.

In providing us your personal information we pledge not to abuse your trust.  You may review our Privacy Policy, but basically we only use your information to contact you about issues concerning the Art Bazaar.  We do not make any of your information available to other parties without first obtaining your explicit permission.

Fill in the following form, and when you are ready, press the "Send Form" button.  Depending on the speed of your connection and the server load, it might take a few moments to process the form — so be patient and please resist the impulse to press the " Send Form" button again.  In due time, after the form is sent, you will be directed to a "Thanks for your application" page.  Click on the prominent "Click here to return to the Art Bazaar Application page to continue your application" link and we will then proceed to Step 2.

Be as specific as possible.  Additional items not properly included with your application materials may be removed from the show at the discretion of the event organizers.

Please tell us how you will be sending us your images.  (Likely methods include: using the file uploader in Step 2 on this page; as an email attachment; via the USPS and the mail; or by directing us to your website.)

If you are using the file uploader on this page, or you are attaching image files to an email, please include a list of the file names in the text box below to ensure that we get all files and know which application they belong with.  For that same reason please start all image files submitted with your name (ex:  yourname photo 1.jpg)

All candidates for the Art Bazaar are responsible for the Vendor Information content on our website.  Please read the summary below:
  • I understand that this is a juried show, and not everyone will be chosen to participate.
  • Resale items will not be permitted.
  • Any items that were not accurately reflected in your application materials and that we decide are not appropriate for this event will not be allowed to remain.
  • You are expected to be able to maintain stock throughout a 20 day show.
  • Each artists' work will be grouped together. You will be sharing corners with other artists, and will be expected to work together.
  • Our decisions on your assigned space is final.
  • Blue Genie cannot be held responsible for loss of items during the course of the show.
  • Blue Genie staff will handle all sales, collect and pay sales tax.
  • All items must be marked clearly with the artists number (#) and dollar amount ($).
  • There is a non-refundable $30.00 application fee that must be turned in with your application.
  • Blue Genie reserves a 35% commission for handling all sales.
  • You will be assigned a time and date to load in. Failing to show up at this time will forfeit your participation in this show.
  • The dates of load in and load out are not flexible. We are renting the space we hold the show in, and must adhere to their schedule.

This Art Bazaar File Uploader is not functional

[ Step 2 ]  Upload photos of your work (digital image files)

You may use our file uploader to send us up to 10 images that represent your work.  Please try to limit the file size of any single image to 100kb to 200kb (the file uploader will not allow files of excessive size).  The preferred file format is JPG, however we can accept JPG, GIF, and PNG files.

The file uploading feature is straightforward, however there are some points that you should be made aware of.  Here is a step-by-step explanation of the process which you should follow to ensure a successful upload of your images:

1.)  Enter your basic identification info — name and email address. (Note that these two fields are required before the upload will proceed.)  You also have the opportunity to add any additional comments concerning your upload (optional).

2.)  Make a new subdirectory for the files you intend to upload.  Type the name of this subdirectory into the field provided next to "New subdirectory? Name:"  It is helpful if you use your name or your business name as the name of the subdirectory.

3.)  Use the "Add another file?" link to add as many additional file input boxes as you need (up to 10) for the number of files you intend to upload.  Each click of the "Add another file?" link will add another file input box.

4.)  Use the "Browse" button of each file input box to browse your computer's hard drive(s) and navigate to your image file locations to select the file you wish to upload.  Repeat this process for each additional file upload box you created until all of the files you wish to upload have been placed in a file upload box.

Please note that the file upload process will be performed in one batch file operation, so be sure to fill in all of the upload boxes with all of the files you intend to upload before clicking on the "Begin Upload" button.

It is important to leave the application/file uploader window open until the entire upload has completed, at which point a "Thank You" screen with additional instructions will be displayed.  Do not click on anything or navigate to another page until the upload is complete, as these actions will cancel the upload.

A progress bar is displayed during the upload and will show the amount of time remaining before the upload completes — and the "Thank You" screen will indicate a successful upload.

If you experience any problems with the file uploader (or you just prefer to do so) you may submit your image files as email attachments to this address: , or mail a CD to us (see address at step 3 below), or direct us to a website with your work.  Please send no more than 10 images.



This Art Bazaar PayPal Button is not functional

[ Step 3 ]  Pay the application fee

There is a non-refundable $30.00 application fee that must be received with your application.  Note that your application will not be considered until this fee is paid.

You may pay this fee online using the PayPal "Add to Cart" button found below.  Another window will open up, sending you to the PayPal site.  You must complete the payment from that screen. PayPal is our payment processor and is a well-respected name in online payment — you can trust their security measures.  PayPal allows payments using any major credit card (you do NOT need to establish a PayPal account).

The PayPal order process provides for a place where you can enter a comment.  We ask you to help us attribute your payment to your application by ensuring that you have placed your name (the same name used on the application and appended to your image file names) in this comment area.

That's it!  If you have performed the three steps described above, then your application has been sent, you've uploaded some photos for us to look at, and you've paid the application fee.

You will receive an email confirming our receipt of your application, and if you have paid the application fee, we will begin review of your application materials.  If we have any questions about your application we will contact you.  And if you have any questions about the Art Bazaar not answered on our website, please do not hesitate to .

Alternatives to the online application

Realizing that any component of the online application process could malfunction or fail, or that an applicant might be uncomfortable with an online process, we should mention that each component of a complete Art Bazaar application has an alternative:

  1. If the online application form fails, download the Word document application form, print it out, fill it in, and mail to Blue Genie Art at:

If the file uploader application fails, send the image files (following the same image restrictions and instructions) as attachments to an email sent to .  Please include clear identification of your image files in the body of the email.  (We also accept examples of work by mail as prints or on CD.  Include a SASE if you want materials returned.)
  3. If the PayPal application fails, send check or money order via mail (see address above), or hand deliver.
