Atlas Beetle Digital Sculptural Enlargement

We scaled up this Atlas beetle for the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
They sent us the exoskeleton of a deceased beetle.
We scanned the parts and milled them up on our router.
The legs were sculpted by hand over a metal armature.
The final sculpture was then fiber-glassed and painted with automotive paint.
