Oversized Book Sculpture for Terrazas Branch Library

This 4'x3' Hispanic children's book was created for the Terrazas branch library, in Austin, Texas.
After a preliminary design phase, the library decided on an oversized wall-mounted book.
Since the library is in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood, the library suggested Spanish words to illustrate.
In this case we took an actual book and digitally enlarged it.
After the enlargement process we finished out the book with a Polyurea hard-coat, painted and airbrushed the illustrations, and added a LED light "neon" strip along the edges. |
