Digital Sculptural Enlargement by Blue Genie ArtDigital scale up services from Blue Genie Art allow artists to create perfect reproductions of their work on any scale. Our 3D laser scanner from Scantech is accurate to 1/100 of an inch. That combined with our 4 axis CNC router and specialized CARSO software, allows us to recreate any object on any scale. For artist and designers under a deadline, our art-to-part time is shorter than many other computerized scale-up companies due to the ease of programming toolpaths with the CARSO system and the rapid milling speeds we can achieve with our Streamline router. Although this process has many applications, one key application is for sculptors who cast in bronze. We offer competitive pricing for our digital foam enlargement for those needing our most basic service. Expanded Polystyrene foam (EPS or Styrofoam) is used for large scale-ups for bronze casting. Furthermore, foam enlargements of sculptures can also be sent to nearby Deep in the Heart Art Foundry, a full service foundry where they can be sprayed with oil based clay for detailed sculpting. For other art or design projects, the EPS can be finished and coated with our Polyurea hard-coating. Also, detailed models can be milled in urethane foam which offers greater sculpt-ability and precision.
